Brenda HubbardBrenda Hubbard specializes in managing large projects involving a systematic approach to developing instruction and improving performance. Her experience includes instructional systems projects with the U.S. Department of Defense and the Center for Instructional Development and Services at Florida State University, as a manager for a large professional association, and as a training specialist in a municipality. Brenda is currently the Senior Program Development Manager for the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants. She is responsible for instructional quality of all professional education programs which are marketed to 18,000 statewide members who are CPAs. In this capacity, she works with subject matter experts to design, develop, and evaluate new training programs for professional continuing education. As part of the development process, she oversees the packaging of conference speaker handbooks and discussion leader guides. As a training specialist for the City of Tallahassee, Brenda conducted a needs assessment for customer service, and designed and delivered an introductory customer service training course for 3,000 employees. She also designed PC-based databases for automating training and personnel records, and wrote and produced a bi-monthly newsletter for 600 supervisors on training and safety topics. She has extensive experience as a project manager with several consulting firms that supported instructional design efforts for the U.S. Navy, Marine Corps, and Air Force. Several of her consulting assignments were overseas. Significant among these projects included the following:
Brenda has been active at a national and local level with the American Society for Training and Development (ASTD) and the International Society for Performance and Instruction (ISPI) and she is active locally with chapters that support both of these associations. She has been invited to the national headquarters for the ASTD as a CAP and MAP reviewer for the past 8 years. While living in Orlando, Pensacola, and Tallahassee, she was been actively involved with ASTD, including president in Tallahassee and Pensacola. Her educational credentials include the following: B.A. Educational Media and M.A. Instructional Technology, both from the University of Central Florida. Her graduate internship was with the Naval Training Systems Center in Orlando, FL. She has completed her course work requirements for the Ph.D. in Instructional Systems from Florida State University. |
